Why you shouldn't let small children, rabid dogs and americans anywhere near art.

Some idiot by the name of Wynn, of no interest or accomplishments whatsoever, will nonetheless remain forever recorded in the history of art, as the most important American contributor to cubist painting.

The totality of canvas collectively ruined and framed by the backward country spanning half a continent during the past hundred years can in no reasonable way be compared to the square inch this particular idiot accidentally removed from Picasso's Dream.

According to Wynn's mis-wired brain, the adequate comment when someone fucks up something they could never replace is "Oh shit. Thank goodness it was me".

In case you are thinking that since the man owns the painting, I'm being a tad harsh, let me explain how the man got to afford to pay for it then. The "Show Me the Monet" bill (AB 536) granted a tax loophole to buyers of publicly displayed works of art costing more than $25,000. In the first year alone, Mr. Wynn's investments will cost the public treasury more than $15 million, much of it at the expense of Nevada school children, as estimated by Senator Joe Neal.

Things are in fact perfectly clear. Steve Wynn is a good approximation of stale chewing-gum stuck on the sole of my shoe, except with a bank account. He didn't spend any money per se, he just bought some paintings instead of paying his taxes. Oh, and this snippet from American Mafia might interest you I guess.

This made possible by the very intelligent assembly of Nevada, an elected body, manned by what can reasonably be considered representative Americans. At least, that's what they're officially called.

Thus art joins finances in the long and growing list of accounts in which the United States show a negative balance. It will conceivably take another few centuries before the bottom line of American contribution to painting will reach zero again. Even so, it's better than finances, where that pesky matter of interest solidly guarantees the US is never coming to light.

17 people are still waiting for an apology.
