I was going through my logs the other day, and boy was there a suprise waiting. Looky here :
I had been haxxored. I mean haxx0red. Mercilessly rooted. The Unknown Script Wizard (USW) paid me a visit, and boy did it hurt. Or maybe it was the Apprehensible Script Sailor, Hacker OverLord of Evil ? Could it have been some Intelligent Destroyer Inflicting Ownage Trashing on my poor unsuspecting box ?At any rate, the only reason you are reading this now, and indeed the only reason I still have a site is the sheer mercy and kindess of the heart of that guy. If he wasn't such a nice guy, I don't know what would have happened. But was it just one single Dark Underground Master Mega-Yoda, or was it really a team effort ?
Well, looking how it took about one dozen (12 for the McDonalds part timers) to three dozen (36 or so, roughly speaking) attempts at the same stupidity to realise it just wont work, I thought it couldn't have been just one idiot. They just don't come this perfect. Indeed it wasn't just one. It was a slew.
So, being the nice divinity that you all love and celebrate, I decided to help out a bit. Here's some alternative hacker ways to root my box, out of the kindness of my heart :
Someone might notice how the server moans in agony, trying to get across the concept it is just a mere Fedora Apache. Nothing as cool as windows, I'm sure. It doesn't know what the hell a “winnt” is. It doesn't care to find out. It would just love to be left alone, to mind its own business as a Unix box. Come to think of it, who the hell runs a webserver off windows nt these days ? Because whoever they are they need urgent help with their severe masochism issues.
On a parting note, let me say that as I have the root to that server, I kinda have your IP by now, and since it's static I KNOW WERE YOU LIVE.
